The BBC no longer has plans to produce a Doctor Who Christmas special, and showrunner Russell T Davies and production company Bad Wolf. They officially left the programme as the broadcaster looks for a new production partner. The BBC announced in October 2025 that a Doctor Who Christmas special written by Davies would air in December 2026. However, the special has been cancelled, and the BBC is now asking other production companies to come forward as co-producers for future series. Jason Momoa is no longer attached to star in PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures’ film adaptation of the popular video game franchise Helldivers. The reason for the actor’s departure is unknown. The project, however, is still alive and Sony is looking for someone else to step into the role. The UK’s competition regulator is now officially looking over one of Hollywood’s largest-ever deals. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has officially opened a merger inquiry into Paramount’s $110bn acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. It’s a big deal.
