Idris Elba has been the cry for a person of color Bond for quite some time now, making it to the top of many a fan cast list for the 007 role. The longing for Elba to play Bond became an internet sensation, exciting many and peeving others (gods forbid our favorite spy not be white). Beyond longing, many rumors swept through the fandom that Elba would indeed be taking the role.
However, when asked by Good Morning Britain if he were to be our next Bond we got an immediate and blunt “No”. Now, Elba doesn’t strike me as one to lie for intrigue, so I am going to have to say that we got our answer and will have to find our new Bond elsewhere.
