Officials of the Texas Department of Public Safety had to send out apologies after an Amber alert meant to be used as a test went out to the public.
The Amber alert was for Glen, who was Chucky’s son in the 2004 film, “Seed of Chucky.”
The alert featured images of the doll along with Chucky who was listed as his abductor. The descriptions given fit their sizes and looks featured in the horror films. They even described Chucky’s race as “Other: Doll.”
The Amber alert was meant to be an internal test but accidentally went out to local media outlets and the public. Click2Houston first reported the event and what the DPS officials said to them via email.
“Thank you for contacting us. This was actually a test we were running on a dev server and it accidentally went out.”
“We appreciate you reaching out to us to verify this. We do apologize for this inconvenience (to) you.”
I don’t know about you but if I got a text like this first I would laugh. Then I would be worried that a Chucky doll really did get loose. Those things are creepy…

Chucky is well known as a doll that was possessed by the soul of a serial killer. The “Child’s Play” franchise began in 1988 and resulted in a cult following and no less than eight movies.
There is also a television series in the works at SYFY Channel, with original creator Don Mancini, and Chucky actor Brad Dourif on board in some capacity.
