Listen to System of a Down’s “Toxicity,” Medieval-Style

Do you love System of a Down? I mean really love it? Then you may want to check out this cool Medieval style rendition of “Toxicity” by Algal the Bard. He plays all the instruments and there is no use of Midi anywhere so it’s really a neat thing to see put together.

One thing I’ve found that is really fun is changing up the style of our favorite songs. Whether it be Weird Al Yankovic Polka-fying things or someone else changing a song to make it a ballad it’s always fun to hear. Heck there was even a Frank Sinatra version of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” lately.

What Algal the Bard has done with one of my favorite songs is taken it to a new listening level. I’m still of the mind that when parties start back up again and we can celebrate together of putting on renditions like this and waiting for guests to get it. Another great cover of note by them is Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters.” He’s also done some video game music covers but our favorite is when they take a song from a different genre like something from SOAD and change it up.

Another great artist lately that does things along this line is Hildegard Von Blingin’ who’s covered songs like “Pumped up Kicks” as well as “Somebody That I Used to Know” and “Bad Romance.” All done in a great way with lyrics in mind for the times that the songs are supposed to reflect in her new style.
