Snapple Ships Laughs on Pete Davidson & Colin Jost’s Ferry

Saturday Night Live alums Pete Davidson and Colin Jost have officially found a use for their Staten Island Ferry. Working with partners Cris and Paolo Italia of The Stand Group, the duo saved the decommissioned John F. Kennedy ferry from the chopping block back in 2022. The historic NYC staple served as a commuting vessel between Manhattan and Staten Island from the 1960s until it was dry-docked in 2021.

Davidson and his team purchased the vessel at a 2022 auction with the lofty goal of repurposing it into a unique entertainment venue. However, four years of renovations have served as a wake-up call of sorts. The logistics of creating a maritime nightclub are just as difficult as you would imagine. And just as expensive. Though visitors won’t be popping champagne at sea anytime soon, they can at least look forward to a unique comedy venue.

Tea Party: A Floating Piece of NYC History

Partnering with Snapple (Keurig Dr Pepper), Davidson and Jost’s ferry will open to the public for a free, special, one-day comedy event. On September 17th, Snapple will transform this floating piece of NYC history into a one-of-a-kind comedy experience: The Snapple Island Ferry Comedy Show, hosted by “Captains” Pete Davidson and Colin Jost.

Though the vessel won’t be leaving port, visitors can still expect waves of laughter. The free event is going for a spontaneous, “why not” kind of vibe. It fits right into the Snapple brand personality. As Vice President of Marketing, Brad Smith explains, “The brand has always had a refreshingly funny take on the everyday, and comedy gives us a clear way to bring that to life.” Davidson and company are looking to give attendees an avenue to “take a break, have a laugh, and do something completely ridiculous.”

Float Plan: Snapple Ferry Event Logistics

    • Location: Moored at Pier 17, 89 South St in New York City.
    • Timing: Doors open at 7:00 PM ET on September 17th. The show begins at 8:30 PM.
    • Duration: The performance will run for at least an hour.
    • Refreshments: Guests can enjoy a variety of Snapple beverages and snacks, though organizers haven’t specified if alcohol will be served.

    The Lineup & Ticket Drops

Davidson and Jost plan to showcase stand-up sets from some of comedy’s hottest rising prospects. The official lineup is being intentionally hidden to build hype. As the date approaches, prospective attendees can follow Snapple on Instagram and TikTok for exclusive comedian reveals.

Tickets are being handled with a similar air of mystery. While admission is completely free, availability is highly limited, and acquisition is strictly time-gated:

    • The Ticket Drops: From September 3rd through September 8th, ticket batches will drop every day at 3:00 PM ET.
    • Where to Register: Secure your spot here.
    • The Limits: Tickets are only obtainable in pairs, with a strict limit of one pair per transaction.

Snapple’s Ferry Island Comedy Show is sure to be a wild ride. If you miss out on tickets, you can still tune into Snapple on Instagram and TikTok for live updates and highlights throughout the event.
