No Screaming on Rides in Japanese Theme Parks Due to Covid-19

Now that the world is starting to be put back together part of the struggle is coming up with safe ways for people to gather. A big part of that which we’ve had our eye on is how theme parks will be able to safely reopen amid COVID-19. While American theme parks are slowly planning to reopen around July, other places such as China and Japan are already underway. The newest thing we’ve heard from the Japanese theme park regulations is probably going to be hard to monitor. And that is that they are asking guests to please not scream on the rides.

The reasoning behind it is sound since when you talk you spread particles that could potentially get others sick. If you are a carrier or asymptomatic the chance of transmission is even higher. Of course you would be wearing a mask but it would be hard to know if that would fly off mid air, especially if not secured well.

Other regulations that they have put in place are increased sanitizing measures, encouraging social distancing, regular body temperature checks and mandatory face mask use.

Some of the performers who will not be wearing a mask due to the different aspects of their job will be told to stay at least one meter away from guests at all times. Customer service will also be effected since they have to wear masks. They’re saying, “As a new style of customer service, even when you’re wearing a mask, you can use a combination of smiley eyes, hand gestures, etc., to communicate with visitors.” And that’s per new regulatory guidelines.
