The Shining is definitely one of Kings most popular movies. Now we will be seeing a new series from HBO Max in the foreseeable future based on it.

HBO is set to launch its new streaming platform, HBO Max, in May 2020 and they are putting in work to make us all want to subscribe. There is a huge catalog coming with plenty of original films and series, including Overlook.

Overlook is inspired by The Shining and it will be produced by J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions company.

Overlook will tell the untold stories of the Overlook Hotel from The Shining. The novel centers on a family who is care-taking a hotel during winter. Nevertheless, they soon find that the hotel is never unoccupied. This hotel is based on the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, which is reported to be haunted.

J.J. Abrams and The Bad Robot Productions is also set to produce two other series at this time: Justice Leak Dark, and Duster.

HBO Max will be launching in May and will cost $14.99 a month. Those who are currently subscribers to HBO Go will automatically be swapped to HBO Max at no additional cost.
