There are a lot of reasons why the Mortal Kombat franchise numbers among the most popular video games of all time, and one of them is its host of complex and compelling characters. Shang Tsung is definitely among these. First appearing in the series in 1992, he is the most powerful of warlocks, but he also has plenty of other fascinating abilities besides spellcasting and magic.
