Geralt is very much a man of action. As a Witcher, he travels around slaying monsters and defeating enemies to earn some cash. Now, imagine him sitting in a comfy chair, a bottle of scotch beside him, as he peacefully enjoys a book. Having a hard time picturing it? Well, luckily we have the real life equivalent.
Netflix has filmed Herny Cavill, the face of Geralt himself, reading from one of The Witcher books. The video features Cavill sitting in a comfy chair with a bottle of what I like to believe is a good scotch beside him. In his hands he holds a copy of The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski. The Last Wish is the first of two collections of short stories that precede The Witcher Saga. The section Cavill reads from is where Geralt is introduced for the first time.
The video clocks in at just over five minutes long and you can check it out below. You definitely will not be disappointed. After all, who doesn’t enjoy watching a Witcher work?
