The Top Google Trends in 2019 By Category

Back towards the beginning of December, Google released the report of the top search trends.  It’s interesting to see what type of things have dominated the United States’ curiosity throughout the year.

With little surprise, it revealed that the most searched term of Google is “Disney plus.”  The streaming site accomplished this in just a month!  I predict that it will only get more popular as new series debut on the streaming site.  It’s popularity was boosted even more when it announced its partnership with Verizon. Their plan gave unlimited data customers a free year of Disney+, as well as Hulu.  Quite a deal if you ask me.

Aside from Disney+, many of the other most popular searches related to things that affected our world greatly, such as natural disasters and the passings of celebrities.  Below are lists of the most searched items for each category.

All of this goes to show how the power of curiosity is a major factor in advertising and marketing strategies.  To be able to create curiosity within people is one of the most influential powers of a business. As seen with Disney+,  Disney is very good at capturing the curiosity of people. If they can get people to become curious about something, they will act on that curiosity, which will lead them to discover new things.
