Target Revives dELiA*s, & ’90s Kids Are Freaking Out

Today started out as a normal day. Cooking, cleaning, playing video games, that kind of stuff. The kids were kind of bored, so my husband and I decided we would walk around Target. Not looking for anything special, just wandering. Plus, my daughter had some birthday money to spend. Anyway, I was walking around, had just looked at the Massive Halloween section, and then BOOM. An entire section that brought a wave of 90’s nostalgia back. Target has dELiA*s clothes and accessories.

dELiA*s for me was always out of reach. I had the catalog, but I didn’t get anything from them. Actually, scratch that. I did get a white pair of go-go boots when I was 12 (not completely appropriate for a tween). Hey, don’t blame me; I didn’t create the trend. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery had come out, and that meant we had an amalgam of trends all at once. It was literally a mixture of Y2K types of clothes plus hippie-dippy 70s bellbottoms. Oh, and jelly bracelets before they got linked to certain things in the 00s.

It’s not the first revival for dELiA*s

Dolls Kill launched its first official dELiA*s collection on November 2, 2018. And honestly, I was super sad about it. I don’t shop there, and it totally sucked that the clothing brand I loved got its first revival at a store I couldn’t shop at. I thought that would probably be the biggest revival that brand would have, since that’s usually what happens with things I love. And that may be dramatic, but seriously, every perfume I get attached to gets discontinued.

However, now that Target has the brand, I’m a lot happier. But that’s also because of the fact that my daughter is the EXACT same age as I was when the catalog came out, and I can dress her like I would have wanted to be dressed. Like a mini me! And don’t worry, I ask if it’s ok. I’m not forcing her to wear the clothes.

So anyway, I just wanted to tell ya’ll that dELiA*s is back and that you can grab some cute outfits right now. I’d go soon because you know these are going to sell out fast. 90s kids are gonna fight over all the outfits just like back in the day.
