The ever-growing V/H/S franchise is about to have a 9th addition. Shudder has just confirmed that V/H/S/Mixtape will premiere on the streamer in early October. It features segments by RZA (The Man with the Iron Fists), Ernest Dickerson (Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight), Flying Lotus (Ash), and more.
Mixtape “cranks the signature found-footage horror up to eleven with an electrifying new anthology where music and sound become the source of terror. United by a theme that explores the power of music, rhythm, and audio to haunt, possess, and destroy, the film blends cosmic horror, psychological suspense, outrageous splatter, and groundbreaking practical effects into one unforgettable mixtape of nightmares,” reads the press release.
Director Renee Zhan’s (O Black Hole!) segment features original creations from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. David Moreau (Mads) will also direct a segment. Flying Lotus will provide music video interludes. Ghost’s Tobias Forge will be making his music video directorial debut. And if all that isn’t musical enough, well mount up, scumdogs, because GWAR will be making an appearance as well!
The upcoming film is produced by Josh Goldbloom, Steven Schneider, Roy Lee, Michael Schreiber, and Brad Miska. Ben Ross and Rami Yasin will executive produce.
