Alysa Liu‘s already making her reputation with her smiley piercing (which she did herself) and her cool hair. Of course everyone is watching her after she won the 2026 Winter Olympic champion for both women’s singles and in the team event. Now anime fans are talking about her because of her excellent taste in anime and manga. And when we say excellent, we mean it. Ranking your top 5 can tell you a lot about a person, and she’s got some superb choices in the mix.

Shout out massive JJK & Chainsaw Man Manga and Anime Fan Alysa Liu for winning Gold in Women's figure skating https://t.co/Dhe3oMIWE1 pic.twitter.com/Qs8L1S1xEn

Coming in HOT with “Jujutsu Kaisen,” and “Chainsaw Man.” Two shojo anime that tell an epic story riddled with adventure. Here’s the complete list below.

    Her favorites include:

    • Jujutsu Kaisen – A dark fantasy series full of supernatural battles and intense action sequences.
    • Chainsaw Man – Known for its chaotic energy, unique storytelling, and unpredictable twists.
    • Attack on Titan – An emotionally charged story of humanity fighting for survival against towering enemies.
    • Madoka Magica – A magical girl series that surprises viewers with psychological depth and plot complexity.
    • Soul Eater – A stylized adventure blending supernatural elements, quirky humor, and memorable characters.

One of the things that make me say “woah” is the choice for Madoka Magica. That one in particular is a DARK take on the magical girl genre. It makes me stand back and say damn, this girl is DEEP. And other fans of anime are saying the same over her picks.
