“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Cast & Crew Say Farewell

Back in June, Paramount+ confirmed the bizarre decision to cancel “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” after its 5th season. On December 19th, the series officially wrapped filming in Toronto, Canada. “Strange New Worlds” cast and crew soon began posting tearful farewells on social media.

Series star Anson Mount led the pack with a video posted to Instagram on December 19th. In it, he gives a silent tour of the mostly empty set, scored to sad music.

Mount followed this up with a picture of Captain Christopher Pike’s ready room, with the desk covered by a white sheet. He captioned the image with a heartfelt goodbye to his peers and fans.

Rebecca Romijin, who plays Number One (now Captain) Una Chin-Riley also shared her thoughts and photos.

Guest star Paul Wesley posted “Last day of filming” to Instagram story over an image of his trailer door.

Director Axelle Carolyn also posted a group photo, praising “Strange New Worlds” cast and crew.

Bill Wolkoff, writer and executive producer, said his farewells in a post to Bluesky on December 20th. He even joked the series still has 2 more seasons to air, which makes everything even more surreal.

And that’s a wrap of principal photography for Strange New Worlds! It’s been an honor to write for all five seasons of this show. Maybe weird to be writing this when we still have two more seasons coming out? They’re good I hope you’ll watch no I don’t know when they’ll air xo??

Chris Fisher, co-executive producer and producing director, posted a video from the bridge “…for the last time in my career.” He talks about how he grew up as a fan and how the show helped him deal with difficult situations. He later posted a group shot on to Threads.

Maya Bankovic, director of photography, called the experience a “life-changing ride.” All while sharing her excitement about everyone “completing their final mission.”

At this time there is no set release date for “Star Trek: Stranger New Worlds” season 4 or 5. It’s currently assumed season 4 will debut sometime in 2026, followed by season 5 in 2027. Seasons 1-3 are currently streaming on Paramount+
