Beer and slashers go together like peanut butter and jelly. We mean, who could forget Elvira’s iconic 1990s Coors Light campaign, or her gin? So it’s no surprise that more and more beers are adding horror icons to their adult beverages. Voodoo Ranger is the latest in the growing trend of adding Halloween’s Michael Myers to its Slasher IPA!

The beer maker has released a seasonal Halloween Hoppy 12-Pack. In this pack, there are 3 cans of Slasher IPA featuring Michael Myers, alongside 3 cans each of the company’s IPA, Imperial IPA, and Citrus Slayer IPA.
This new horror-inspired brew sits at 7.5% ABV. Reviewers on Untappd mostly mention it tasting like citrus with sharp bitter notes of pine. This bitterness, however, is balanced out by the beer’s malt taste.
More Frightfully Good Beer
Horror-branded beers are starting to grow in popularity. Last year, Godzilla graced cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon to celebrate the character’s 70th anniversary. Earlier this year, Angry Orchard announced Mystery Caller, a mystery-flavored beer inspired by the Scream franchise. Each collectable can has a glow-in-the-dark Ghost Face design. Not to mention, Great Lakes Brewing Co. has the Nosferatu Double Red IPA. Those cans feature Count Orlok, the famed vampire from the silent film Nosferatu.
