In March, the video game “Split Fiction” was released and became an instant hit. And like all successful IPs, a movie adaptation will soon be in the works. Amazon MGM Studios is finalizing talks on a deal to adapt the co-op action adventure game.

According to reports, the film would be directed by Jon M. Chu (“Wicked”) from a script by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (“Deadpool & Wolverine”). Sydney Sweeney (“Immaculate”) is currently set to star.
“Split Fiction” follows two writers Mio Hudson and Zoe Foster, one writes sci-fi and the other fantasy. The duo becomes trapped inside a simulation of their own stories by Rader Publishing, a tech company using AI to steal creative ideas. They have to work together to escape with their memories intact. Navigating diverse challenges while jumping between their respective genres.
Sweeney is expected to play one of the writers, but there is no word on which one at this time.
The film is set to be produced by Dmitri M. Johnson and Mike Goldberg of Story Kitchen and Electric Somewhere. Executive producers include Timothy I. Stevenson and Hazelight Studios’ Josef Fares and Oskar Wolontis.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about the upcoming “Split Fiction” film as the project develops.
