Fantastic Four Help Revive Blue Raspberry Pop-Tarts

The blue and white suits of the Fantastic Four are iconic pieces of comic book design. Even if it’s just the Thing’s shorts, that matching of light blue and white bring to mind Marvel’s first family. But you know what else is blue and white? Kellogg’s blue raspberry flavored Pop-Tarts! Sadly, no, they haven’t been around for a while. There is good news to be had though, for just like the group of heroes saving us from the Skrulls or Galactus, they’re rescuing blue raspberry and helping bring it back to store shelves!

    Kelloggs

Blue raspberry Pop-Tarts haven’t been sold since 2019. Leave it to marketing synergy to bring something back from the grave though, especially when it comes to a film like “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” It’s easily one of Marvel Studios’ most anticipated films given the number of storylines and characters that can be brought in to the greater MCU now.

As for the Pop-Tarts, well there’s more to that marketing than just the color schemes matching.

    Kelllogg’s

It’s no secret from the trailers for the upcoming film that this movie takes place in an alternate 1960s that is as much retro as it is futuristic. There are things that exist in that timeline that would never exist here. But you know what did exist in the 1960s? That’s right, Pop-Tarts, invented in 1964.

Kellogg’s was keen to jump on this comparison in their press release. “The Pop-Tarts and Marvel Studios’ ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps‘ collaboration is a celebration of our shared 1960s origins,” Leslie Serro, vice president of marketing for Pop-Tarts shared. “There’s no better way to welcome everyone’s favorite, blue-suited Super Hero family to the MCU than with the triumphant return of our own fantastically blue toaster pastry – Pop-Tarts Frosted Blue Raspberry – back on shelves for the first time since 2019, and just in time for this summer’s must-see movie.”

Starting in June, these flavorful Pop-Tarts can be purchased for a limited time, while supplies last, exclusively at Walmart. The Fantastic Four branding will also be present on the frosted strawberry, frosted smores, and frosted brown sugar and cinnamon. But who are we kidding, if you’re going to go for the Fantastic Four you’re going to get it in the blue raspberry, right? Starting to feel about as hungry as Galactus now…

“The Fantastic Four: First Steps” hits theaters July 23rd. Tickets are on sale now.
