Jeremy Allen White-Starring Bruce Springsteen Biopic Gets Release Date

Musical biopics have a history of producing some stellar films showcasing some stellar performances. “Walk the Line” brought us the story of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. More recently we had “A Complete Unknown” with Timothée Chalamet taking on the role of Bob Dylan. And if there’s any artist that could rival Dylan in terms of great American songwriters, it’s Bruce Springsteen. Scott Cooper is directing a biopic of The Boss starring Jeremy Allen White (“The Bear“), and we’ll be watching it later this year.

“Deliver Me From Nowhere” takes it’s name from a book by Warren Zanes that detailed the making of Springsteen’s legendary 1982 album “Nebraska.” The record is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time. With a career as legendary as Springsteen’s, there’s a reason why this record was singled out for a book and a movie, despite producing no hit singles and selling a fraction of the albums that preceded and followed it.

Both Springsteen and his manager Jon Landau are heavily involved in the film.

“Nebraska” was a deeply personal record for Bruce, one that he recorded entirely by himself without the E-Street Band and completely throwing aside the success he had obtained with his previous record, “The River.” Springsteen had scored his first top 5 single with “Hungry Heart,” prior to this and there was no way that anything from this record was going to be commercial in the slightest bit. But he still went and did it, with a record whose title track is about a serial killer, and songs with other characters make morally ambiguous decisions and may or may not have a reason to believe there is any good in life.

“Deliver Me From Nowhere” hits theaters on October 24th, 2025.
