Funko Announces Price Increases Due to…Reasons

Price increases have been in the news a lot lately. A LOT. For good reason- the global marketplace has changed very quickly thanks to, amongst other things, tariffs. We already discussed how these economic shifts have affected the Switch 2. And even Microsoft has announced price increases for its games and consoles. It’s not just games and electronics that are being impacted either. There’s another segment of geek culture that’s getting hit hard, and Funko had to make a not so very fun announcement about it.

    Spirit Halloween

On their official Twitter (formerly X) account, Funko posted that some changes were going to be coming. Changes they referred to as an “adjustment.”

“We know price changes are frustrating—especially for longtime collectors. But the reality is: it costs more to make things today,” Funko said on their official website. “From rising tariffs to shipping to raw materials, the cost of creating our products has gone up significantly.”

Funko didn’t say just how much costs have increased, which is to be expected since no company really wants to reveal what goes on behind the scenes. But they also didn’t mention what the price increase will be.

What the collectable creating company did state though is they were trying to “absorb” as much of the cost increase as they could. Coupled with this, they’re also aiming to try and add something to their products to make up, in a sense, for the price increase. Funko is promising “better sculpts and more detailed figures, premium packaging printed directly onto the box, expanded Octane5 stickers to track and authenticate rare finds,” and “limited edition collectibles that are actually limited.”

The only question is how much of a negative impact it’s going to have. Economic concerns are going to affect people’s spending habits as discretionary spending decreases. That means potentially less spending on vinyl figures, even though some of them are pretty damn cool. It’s not easy being a collector, and it’s not cheap either.
