Boosteroid Review: Built By Enthusiasts, For Everyone

Cloud gaming is rapidly changing how we experience interactive entertainment, and will reach 28.8 million users in 2024 according to Market.us.

Boosteroid cloud gaming service offers a platform to play games in the cloud on a foundation of deep hardware expertise, as the service strives to deliver a smooth, seamless, and responsive gaming experience that rivals local play, with console-quality gaming on any device.

    The Path to Custom-Built Performance

When Boosteroid began in 2017, the team initially considered public cloud solutions like many startups do. However, they quickly realized that generic cloud offerings weren’t capable of consistently delivering the highly immersive experience they envisioned for their users. These public clouds lacked the specialized hardware and optimizations needed to provide smooth gameplay at high resolutions and frame rates.

This realization set Boosteroid on a different path. The company understood that to achieve its goals, a custom-tailored solution was needed. This led Boosteroid to partner with AMD and ASUS, eventually creating a network of high-performance servers equipped with AMD EPYC Zen 4 CPUs and customized Radeon RX 7900 XT GPUs specifically designed for the demands of cloud gaming. And the company isn’t stopping there – Boosteroid is continuing its collaboration with AMD to develop a new generation of even more powerful hardware.

A Seamless and Customizable Gaming Experience

Boosteroid’s library includes a wide variety of games, from AAA titles to indies, including new releases and hidden gems you might not find elsewhere. With the service, one can play games with no downloads and enjoy instant play access to favorite titles.

Thanks to the recent deployment of new servers, users can experience cloud gaming in 4K resolution with maximum settings. Boosteroid is available on mobile and portable devices including handhelds like Steam Deck, and has native applications for Windows, macOS, Linux, and WebOS. The ability to seamlessly switch between devices without interrupting the current session, adds flexibility to the experience. For optimal performance, a stable internet connection and a device capable of streaming high-quality video (similar to what’s needed for watching YouTube) are recommended.

One of the standout features of Boosteroid is the ability to fine-tune the bitrate during a live gaming session. This allows users to optimize their experience based on their connection and device capabilities, ensuring smooth gameplay even under less-than-ideal network conditions.

    • Boosteroid is pushing the boundaries of cloud gaming with initiatives like bringing AAA gaming to cars through a partnership with Mercedes-Benz.

Is cloud gaming worth it? With Boosteroid, the answer is a resounding yes!

By combining a deep understanding of hardware with a commitment to innovation and accessibility, Boosteroid is making seamless and responsive gaming experiences available to everyone, regardless of their device.
