We know it’s only July but do you want to be the one to tell Art the Clown that it’s too early to celebrate Christmas? Everyone’s favorite blood-thirsty clown is back for a yuletide killing spree in the first trailer for “Terrifier 3.” Like the previous films it’s written and directed by Damien Leone and stars David Howard Thornton as Art.

The “Terrifier” franchise follows a silent and psychopathic clown who takes pleasure in chopping up anyone in his path. The first film was released in 2016 and became an instant hit with gorehounds. In 2022 “Terrifier 2,” hit theaters and grossed $15 million, on a less than $250,000 budget. Now, the third film promises to bring even more carnage, but this time it comes topped with a blood angel. (We’re serious, check out the trailer below).

While previous installments have been more over-the-top splatstick, Leone says this one will be more down to earth.  “There’s a lot of people who didn’t love the fantasy, or at least they need more explanation as to why that’s all happening,” Leone told Variety. “That’s why I want to course-correct a bit; let’s go back to ‘Nightmare on Elm Street Part One,’ as opposed to going further into ‘Dream Warriors.’ That could be very helpful criticism and help me make a better movie moving forward. But we’ll see.”

“Terrifier 3” will hit theaters on October 11th. We’ll keep you posted on updates about this project as it develops. You can check out the first blood-soaked trailer below.
