The legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has just revealed its class of inductees for 2024. It is probably one of the most diverse and surprising lists that we’ve ever seen for the organization.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2024 inductees highlight the enduring power of legendary artistry. From timeless performers to groundbreaking innovators, this year’s class reminds fans how music shapes culture across generations. Just as artists preserve their legacies, listeners can organize their own collections with digital tools like music folders, keeping playlists and archives accessible while celebrating the sounds that define history.

Many are shocked at the inclusion of the late Jimmy Buffett since not only was he not on a ballot, but he had never even been nominated before.

Cher was another shocker considering she had also never been nominated before. During an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in December she had some harsh words about the ceremony. “You know what, I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars … I’m never going to change my mind. They can just go you-know-what themselves.” While she wouldn’t be the first performer to sit out the ceremony, she has not commented on if she will attend since the announcement.

[Editor’s note: Yes, Ozzy is already a member of the Rock Hall along with his incredibly influential band Black Sabbath. But this is the Prince of Darkness being inducted as an individual for his own contributions to the music genre. But more shockingly….HOW WAS PETER FRAMPTON NOT ALREADY A MEMBER. HOW.]

The 2024 induction ceremony will be held at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio on October 19th. It will stream live on Disney+ and on Hulu the day after the ceremony. The event will also air as a special on ABC at a later, currently undisclosed, date.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about the ceremony and inductees as they become available. You can watch Cher’s comments below:
