“The Simpsons” Does It Again: Predicting Apple Vision Pro

FOX’s long-running animated series “The Simpsons” has an interesting habit of predicting current events years before they happen. Since 1989, there have been 35 seasons consisting of 760 episodes. There have (to date) been over 30 situations that happened on the show that were mirrored in real life.

From Super Bowl winners to presidential elections and advancements in technology- hell, they even predicted Disney buying FOX!

With Apple’s announcement of the new Apple Vision Pro, fans are thinking another Simpsons prediction came true. The virtual reality (VR) headset bears a striking resemblance to a similar technology from season 28, episode 2, “Friends and Family” from 2016. In the episode, which many fans claim has “Black Mirror” vibes, VR headsets take Springfield by storm.

Looking at a side by side comparison, we totally see how similar the two devices are. Guess we can chalk up another win for Simpsons predictions coming true. This one only took eight years to happen! We’re a little concerned about what could possibly come true next.

    About the Apple Vision Pro

The new Apple Vision Pro VR headsets appear to have majorly upped the VR game. The device allows users to navigate through their apps using eye tracking, hand movements, and voice. A simple flick of the wrist and you could scroll through your socials in a matter of seconds.

“Apple Vision Pro is unlocking the imaginations of our worldwide developer community, and we’re inspired by the range of spatial experiences they’ve created for this exciting new platform,” says Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations, Susan Prescott. “With more than 600 new spatial experiences to explore in the all-new App Store, alongside more than one million compatible apps across iOS and iPadOS, users can discover a wide array of apps that expand the boundaries of what’s possible.”

“The Simpsons” is currently streaming their first 34 seasons on Disney+. Season 35 is streaming on HULU, with the season finale set to air on February 18th, 2024 on FOX.
