The new horror comedy “Slotherhouse” just got its first trailer and poster courtesy of Gravitas Ventures. The film is directed by Matthew Goodhue with a screenplay by Bradley Fowler, adapted from a story by him and Cady Lanigan.

“Slotherhouse” will tell the harrowing story of college senior Emily Young. Emily dreams of being the president of her sorority, Sigma Lambda Theta. So when the sorority decides for the first time ever to hold elections for president, she jumps at the chance. During her campaign, she finds an adorable sloth named Alpha that steals her heart. She soon realizes that this fuzzy slowpoke may be her key to winning the hearts of her sorority sisters.
But when bodies begin to pile up in the Sigma Lambda Theta house, Emily and her sisters realize the deaths are being caused by their new companion. Will Emily and her sisters be able to escape the house with their lives? Or will this death-sloth with 3 razor-sharp claws be too quick for them?

“’Slotherhouse’ is a movie that embodies the reckless abandon genre films can bring to the table,” said Nick Royak of Iconic Events Releasing. “It scratches the sloth itch we didn’t know we had! Our team is thrilled to work on a project that really goes for it, claws and all.”
So it sounds like “Slotherhouse” will be breaking with the current trend of drug-fueled animal attack movies. The synopsis and trailer are giving more of an over-the-top animal in a strange situation feeling, like “House Shark.” Either way, this needs to be a franchise that runs long enough for us to get a “Slotherhouse 5.” [We are sure no Kurt Vonnegut fans would object.]
The film stars Lisa Ambalavanar, Sydney Craven, Olivia Rouyre, Bianca Beckles-Rose, Andrew Horton, Sutter Nolan, Grace Patterson, Milica Vrzić, Annamaria Serda, Rudi Rok, Tiff Stevenson, and Stefan Kapičić.
“Slotherhouse” will hit theaters nationwide on August 30, 2023. You can check out the trailer below:
