Taco Bell Sued for Mexican Pizza False Advertisement

Taco Bell Corp. is facing a class action lawsuit that alleges false advertisement. Frank Siragusa claims the company advertisements misrepresent the amount of ingredients in the Crunchwrap Supreme and Mexican Pizza items. The lawsuit was filed on July 31st by Siragusa on behalf of himself and other customers in New York who purchased the items.

The lawsuit contains various examples of how the advertisements show more ingredients like beef and beans. Compared to the amount you actually receive when ordering these items, the difference is huge. Siragusa is seeking $5 million for New York Taco Bell customers who bought the items over the last three years.

    Actual Mexican Pizza Received

Siragusa used his own alleged experience as the basis for suing the company. After ordering a Mexican Pizza from a New York based restaurant in September 2020, he found the item contained half the beef and cheese he expected. “Taco Bell’s actions are especially concerning now that inflation, food, and meat prices are very high and many consumers, especially lower-income consumers, are struggling financially,” the lawsuit alleges.

This is a legitimate argument against the company here. I frequently call out the appearance of the food items in commercials. The items never look like the way they are advertised, which is always infuriating. Over the years it seems as if the company has gotten even skimpier on the meat and other ingredients. It will be interesting to see how this lawsuit ends and if it causes any changes for Taco Bell.
