NBC’s streaming platform Peacock has released a full length trailer for their upcoming series, “Twisted Metal.” Based on the popular video game series, Anthony Mackie stars as protagonist John Doe. Neve Campbell will play Raven. Wrestler Samoa Joe plays Sweet Tooth (but with Will Arnett as the voice). Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, and Lou Beatty Jr. also star.

The half-hour live-action TV series is based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy, based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick, and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
Seems like the post-apocalyptic setting is back in a big way, as “Miracle Workers” “Mad Max” themed season “End Times” premieres tonight in FX.
“Twisted Metal” hits Peacock July 27th, 2023.
