Our favorite veteran action heroes are back in the 4th installment of the “Expendables” franchise, titled “Expend4bles.” The first trailer confirms the return of series mainstays Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture. And it looks like the old crew will once again, be saving the world while showing a new group the ropes.

The new crew includes 50 Cent, Megan Fox, Andy Garcia, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, and Levy Tran. This time they are charged with stopping World War III by taking out “terrorists [who] have taken possession of nuclear missiles on a cargo ship off the coast,” explains Garcia in the trailer. We then get the expected barrage of quick cuts before seeing a very intimate fight scene between Statham and Fox. Heavily implying the two have a past, possibly romantic but definitely sexual, relationship

According to the longline, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.

While Stallone directed the first film in the series and has written all three, he will only be acting in “Expend4bles.” This time around the script is co-written by Max Adams and Spencer Coven. With Scott Waugh in the director’s chair.

“I heard it turned out pretty good,” said Stallone when asked about the new film in an interview. “Jason Statham is 80 percent of it. He’s happy with it.” While Stallone’s character Barney Ross has always led the crew. Moving the franchise to focus on Statham’s, Lee Christmas, has been a clear goal since “The Expendable” films began.

“Expend4bles” will hit theaters on September 22nd. You can check out the first official trailer below:
