Pete Davidson Returns to “Saturday Night Live” Next Month

Next month, Pete Davidson (“The King of Staten Island“) will be returning to his comedic stomping grounds at NBC’s Studio 8H. He will be a guest host on “Saturday Night Live.” The comedian was part of the legendary sketch show’s cast from 2014 until 2022. But his return may strike some as odd, since Davidson recently said on the “Real Ones With Jon Bernthal” podcast he found his time on the show “confusing.” Mostly due to him and his love life becoming the butt of a lot of the show’s jokes.

“When it’s your own show, and I’ll be sitting in the back watching the cold open and topical political humor or whatever in the culture, and they’re making fun of you and you gotta walk out and do a sketch next and hit your mark [and] the show just made fun of you, so why [is the audience] going to laugh at you?” Davidson said. “They just dogged you.”

While some good-natured ribbing among co-workers is normal. Doing it on such a public stage is a horse of a different color.

Despite how emotionally charged things towards the end may have been. He has remained friends with his former castmates, including  “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels. Michaels is even a producer on his new show “Bupkis,” which is set to hit Peacock on May 4th. The new series will be a fictionalized version of the comedian’s life.

Davidson will guest host  “Saturday Night Live” on May 6th. Check out the trailer for “Bupkis” below:
