Playmobil Enters The Hidden Leaf with Official “Naruto” Toys

One of the best thing about being a parent is that I get to try out all the toys. Sure they’re “for my kids” but c’mon now, no ones fooling anyone at the checkout at Target when I’m alone buying My Little Ponies. I’m excited to tell you about Playmobil‘s newest venture into anime, with official “Naruto” figures!

What’s really cool about these figures is that they are Playmobil’s first venture into anime. And I imagine are just the start. Since the United States distribution partner for “Naruto” is VIZ I will go ahead and assume that someday “Sailor Moon” mini figures are not out of the question. But for now let’s focus on what makes these Naruto Figures great.

    Wide Variety

There are so many different scenarios that you can play out if you get all 12 of these. You’ve got the 5th Hokage Tsunade along with her assistant Shizune and their pet pig. You’ve got a good amount of Akatsuki including Tobi, Kakazu, Kisame and Hidan. You’ve also got the full Team 7 with Kakashi, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. And you get Yamato and Iruka, both key players in the Naruto lore.

    So again we’ve got:

    • Sakura
    • Sasuke
    • Naruto
    • Tobi
    • Tsunade
    • Shizune + Pig
    • Kakazu
    • Hidan
    • Kakashi
    • Iruka Sensei
    • Yamato
    • Kisame

Each of these figures retails for just $7.99, which means you can get the whole set for under $100. These would make great stocking stuffers or Easter basket gifts.

These are the first round of “Naruto” figures, with a second set being released in May. Those will include: Minato, Naruto Sage Mode, Madara, Guy Sensei, Shikamaru, Rock Lee, Hinata, Gaara, Suigetsu, Killer Bee, Pain and Asuma.

    The Quality

I wasn’t going to open them but because I have a two year old who wanted to play with “Yellow” I went ahead and opened Naruto. The first thing that stuck out was the quality of the plastic and how the headband felt real. It’s a softer rubbery material that you set on top of the character’s head and then pop the hair piece on. Because I don’t want to lose any pieces I left the other things like the shiruken inside the box. If you want a great toy to display that won’t take up much room in your cabinet, these figures will do the trick.

Hopefully this means that we’ll get the Hokage’s office or perhaps Naruto’s apartment as playsets in the future. I’d be happy with a whole Hidden Leaf, but that might be asking a bit much.

Check them out on Playmobil’s here. You can also find them on Amazon here.
