Watch Out Cocaine Bear, Here Comes Cocaine Shark

New Zealand police announced more than 3.5 tons of cocaine was found floating in a remote part of the Pacific Ocean. The devil’s dandruff was apparently dropped there by an international drug-smuggling syndicate. Police Commissioner Andrew Coster says the find was dropped in 81 bales at a floating transit point. The island of misfit coke was intercepted by a navy ship had been deployed to the area last week.

The wholesale value of the 3.5 tons of cocaine is about $500 million (NZD), or $316 million in the US.  Making this the nation’s largest-ever drug seizure. While no arrests have been made, it dealt one hell of a hit to those involved in selling and producing it. It’s believed that the coke was heading to Australia. “We believe there was enough cocaine to service the Australian market for about one year, and this would be more than New Zealand would use in 30 years,” Coster said.

The internet wasted no time in making memes about “Cocaine Shark,” a (currently) fictitious sequel to the upcoming “Cocaine Bear” movie. A horror comedy starring Elizabeth Banks, based on a real incident of a black bear getting into a duffle bag of blow in 1985.

Matt Blazi, Founder of The Blair Witch Experience, got a bit punny with his “Cocaine Shark” posting.

One tweet posed that this could have been what “Baby Shark” grew into.

Even companies like Fandango got in on the joke.

AMC put up a poll asking who would win in a fight between a “Cocaine Shark” and a “Cocaine Bear.” A bear is currently favored to win.

#CocaineBear V.S Cocaine Shark, there can only be ONE!

AMC’s post was re-tweeted by “Cocaine Bear”’s official account with a bit of a threat attached. Doesn’t sound like your local black bear takes too kindly to someone raiding his stash.
