“Cocaine Bear” Trailer is Absolutely Batsh*t Crazy

When a film comes along with a title like “Cocaine Bear,” you know you’re in for some chaos. Pair that with it being a true story, and all white-powder hell is likely to break loose. It’s 1985. A drug runner’s plane has crashed, dropping lots of cocaine across a Georgia forest. A local 500lb black bear decides it smells interesting, eats it, and goes on a freaking rampage.

Yeah, so, this isn’t like “Fargo‘s” “This is a true story.” This ACTUALLY happened.

    “Cocaine Bear” Universal Pictures

Elizabeth Banks (“Charlie’s Angels,” “Pitch Perfect 2“) directs “Cocaine Bear” from a screenplay by Jimmy Warden (“The Babysitter: Killer Queen“). It stars Keri Russell (“The Americans“), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (“Straight Outta Compton“), Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth“), Alden Ehrenreich (“Solo: A Star Wars Story“), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Modern Family“), Brooklynn Prince (“The Florida Project“), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (“BlacKkKlansman“), Kristofer Hivju (“Game of Thrones“), Hannah Hoekstra (“Charlie’s Angels” 2019), Aaron Holliday (“”Sharp Objects“), Margo Martindale (“The Americans“), and the late great Ray Liotta (“Goodfellas,” “Blackbird“).

“Cocaine Bear” hits theaters February 24th, 2023.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
