Since the summer anime season hasn’t been doing so hot, we’re excited to see something that looks like it will bring back watchers in full force. “Chainsaw Man” by Tatsuki Fujimoto and coming from MAPPA Studios looks like a really fun, slightly spooky anime. A new trailer for the series has been released, and it already has over one-million views. The latest trailer for Chainsaw Man offers a thrilling glimpse into its action-packed, bloody narrative, leaving fans eagerly anticipating its release. Fans are commenting on the video mostly about the voice actors who were chosen for the anime. Many are saying that they picked the perfect people for each character. Some of the acting incites chills, especially when Denji screams.

Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man”–a man with a devil’s heart.

“Chainsaw Man” takes place in 1997 in an alternate timeline where the Soviet Union still exists. Some major historical events have not happened, such as the Holocaust. There are two types of people on Earth; humans and the devils born from their fears. Devils are dangerous and malevolent with powers proportional to the amount of fear they incite.

MAPPA Producer, Executive Director, and Rights Management Director Makoto Kimura along with MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka will be in San Jose, CA this weekend for Crunchyroll Expo on Sunday, August 7 at 1:00pm for the “Chainsaw Man” Panel by MAPPA and Crunchyroll. We may get the actual date out of that panel. Stay Tuned!

Humans are able to make contracts with them so that they can use their powers. These humans are called Devil Hunters. Devils originated from hell and the story is about the cycle of birth and death between Earth and Hell. The biggest Devils in Hell are the Primal Fears which have never been killed. Traveling through the planes is overseen by the Hell Devil.

It looks like the perfect thing to start watching around Halloween.

“Chainsaw Man” is slated to come out this October, an official date has not yet been revealed.
