On Wednesday the 19th; Jack Black finally got his dues by getting his “Star” on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. He is the 2,645 actor that received this honor. His star was placed next to the historic Stromberg Clock on Hollywood Boulevard. It is an homage to his newest film that he is in The House with a Clock in its Walls. Brink co-star Tim Robbins was in the crowd during the ceremony along with Mike White and director Richard Linklater from School of Rock.

Jack poses with his family at the ceremony. He was all smiles as he stood beside his wife Tanya Haden, his two sons Samuel 12, and Thomas 10.

In Jack Black speech he said:

“I’m so nervous because I’m not use to having praise heaped upon me especially by people I love and respect so much taking the podium.” “It’s very embarrassing for me. In some ways this is torture, but it’s also hugely humbling and I can’t believe everyone that came. I thought no one was going to come to this stupid thing. Look at all you beautiful people. Thank You for the love.”

Of course, the comedian that he is the 49-year-old actor could not help himself by making a joke or two. He started with the fact that the star indicates he should do something else and retire.

“I have wanted one of these things for so long, since I was a kid. I thought, “Oh man! If you get one of those things on the sidewalk, that means you have made it.” “And I feel like I have finally grasped that sweet brass ring. Now the question is where do we go?”

“I am here to announce my retirement he added, to the boos of the onlookers. I got the thing! Why continue! Once you get the thing, I have made it. Officially I have made it. I want to and I am going to focus on my diet and exercise.”

He also had some strong words for our President Donald Trump at the end of his speech. According to Variety Jack Black said, “He is a piece of s-! Peace out love you!” He said as he was walking off the podium. Jack Black has been very vocal critic of Trump during his term. Especially on his day that he was inauguration! Jack Black and Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Glass performed their protest song The Government Totally Sucks at an anti-protest rally.

“We haven’t played this song for years because it just never felt appropriate, he told the crowd.” They played it from video from a performance that was shared online. “However, now we are happy to unleash the beast. The Government Totally Sucks.”
