A Funatic’s Guide to Funko Virtual Con NYCC 2021

Funko Virtual Con NYCC is nigh upon us and Funatics, best of luck getting your hands on these goods.

If you’ve ever attempted to navigate the online waters of these Funko drops you know how much of an emotional roller coaster it can be. You know that horrifying moment where maybe, just MAYBE you manage to get something into your cart only to have it stolen from your clutches by the lies of your purchases not being caught up to the inventory server. Yet you love Funko so every time these opportunities come along you must put yourself through this again…

Here’s what you need to know and remember for Funko Virtual Con NYCC:

    • Temper your expectations. Okay actually we suggest you keep that in mind for every year, and maybe just in general as a life philosophy…
    • Funko will be using their waiting room feature. It’s first in, first out, so be prepared to clear thy schedule if you want the goods.
    • Supposedly wait times will vary based on “active site traffic” (read: try not to panic too hard if your wait time jumps UP).
    • Also be aware there’s a SECOND waiting room once you enter the checkout phase.
    • There is a limit of up to 1 of each item per household.
    • Inventory is validated throughout the checkout process – so it ain’t yours till you hand over the moolah. Meaning even if it makes it into your cart act fast, cause it might not be yours.
    • Speaking of the moolah: CREDIT CARDS ONLY. Third party functions like Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are not welcome here.
    • Should you be so lucky as to complete an order, expect massive delays on shipping. Though what hasn’t that been the case for the last however long? Still we would like to profusely thank our delivery people for tirelessly continuing to hand off the endless onslaught of purchases we’ve made in the pandy.

At any Funko Virtual Con we expect chaos, server frustration, lots of whining on the internet, a swarm of resellers appearing like the vermin they are… but most of all that shining possibility of snagging something you truly love.
