We’ve got some exciting news about the currently untitled A Minecraft Movie sequel. Kirsten Dunst (Roofman) has joined the cast!
She will be co-starring with the returning Jason Momoa (Supergirl), Jack Black (Anaconda), Danielle Brooks (Peacemaker), Matt Berry (Krapopolis), and Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus).

Based on the popular video game franchise by Mojang Studios, the first A Minecraft Movie took theaters by storm last year. It centered around 4 misfits: Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), and Dawn (Brooks). All of them are struggling with their lives before a mysterious portal pulls them into the Overworld.
The Overworld is a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they have to master the terrain while going on a magical quest with an unexpected crafter named Steve (Black).
Jared Hess (Thelma the Unicorn) is returning to direct, from a script by Chris Galletta (The Kings of Summer). Plot details and which role Dunst will play are unknown at this time.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary have A Minecraft Movie sequel slated to release on July 23, 2027. We’ll keep you posted on updates about this project as it develops.
