Netflix’s live-action “Scooby-Doo” series has found its Daphne Blake. Emmy-nominee Mckenna Grace (“Five Night’s a Freddy’s 2”) will be starring in a younger version of the iconic gumshoe.
The new series will tell the story of how the Mystery Inc. gang came to be.

“During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne (Grace) get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder,” the logline reads. “Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”
Grace is no stranger to the franchise either. She voiced a young version of Daphne in the 2020 animated film “Scoob!.” She reprised the role in the prequel, “Scoob! Holiday Haunt,” however, the film was shelved after completion so Warner Bros. Discovery could take a tax write-off.
“Scooby-Doo” will be written by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, who also act as showrunners and executive producers. André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner will executive produce under their Midnight Radio banner. Berlanti Productions’ Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman will also executive produce.
