Jennifer Tilly Confirms There is More “Child’s Play” on The Way

It has been almost 2 years since SyFy canceled the “Chucky” series, based on the “Child’s Play” horror franchise. But you know the old saying, you can’t keep a doll possessed by a serial killer down.

Franchise star Jennifer Tilly, who plays Chucky’s on again off again girlfriend/ex-wife Tiffany, has confirmed a new project is in development.

“The television series just ended, but I know for a fact there is more Chucky and Tiffany in the works,” Tilly tells ET. “The gruesome twosome.”

While she didn’t elaborate most are assuming that the franchise will return to doing theatrical films.

Don Mancini, who wrote every entry into the franchise and directed since 2004’s “Seed of Chucky” (sans the remake), has been vocal about continuing the story. And he was also clear that he wasn’t happy about not being able to do season 4 of “Chucky.” So unless another network or streamer bites, the franchise will basically have to go back to its roots.

It’s also assumed that the plotline will pick up where season 3 of “Chucky” left off, and continue to ignore the 2019 movie remake. Mostly because that turned the titular character from a possessed piece of plastic into a high tech killing machine. Which really doesn’t work with any of the other plotlines in the universe.

Bottom line, Tiffany and Chuck will be back to their murderous ways in the not to distant future. Stay tuned to Nerdbot for more information as the project develops.
