Michael Douglas Memoir Get October Release Date

Oscar-winning actor and producer Michael Douglas will be writing a currently untitled memoir. It’s being put out by Grand Central Publishing and is written in collaboration with Mike Fleming Jr.

The memoir is currently slated to hit shelves in early October.

    The Memoir

Douglas’ book will follow his beginnings in his father, Kirk’s, shadow, to his own stardom. Including some public struggles with addiction that threatened his livelihood and marriage. Leading into his son’s battle with addiction and a prison sentence.

This all collimates into his victories, like beating stage 4 cancer and a 25-year marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones. He was appointed a Messenger of Peace by the UN in 1998 for all his philanthropy and peace activism. A 5-decades long career in film and television isn’t any small task either.

Some of Douglas’ credits include, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” “Romancing the Stone,” “The China Syndrome,” “Fatal Attraction,” “Black Rain,” “Wall Street,” “Basic Instinct,” “Disclosure,” “The Game,” “Wonder Boys,” and “Traffic.”

He’s taken home Oscars for Best Picture for “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and Best Actor for “Wall Street.” Nabbed a Primetime Emmy for the TV movie “Behind the Candelabra,” and a BAFTA Award, five Golden Globes, two SAG Awards, and the AFI Life Achievement Award among many others.

“After being asked for many years, I’ve finally decided it’s time to tell my story on my own terms,” Douglas said. “Not the highlight reel, not the version shaped by headlines or box office numbers, but the real one. I’ve lived a life that unfolded in public while being deeply private at the same time, and there’s a difference. This is about where I came from, what I fought against, and what I chose for myself. Fame can blur the truth; this is my attempt to bring it back into focus.”

Douglas’ memoir is slated to hit shelves on October 6, 2026.
