Cheat Code to Get Your Kids in Warm Winter Wear: Kigarumis

As a parent, I don’t know what’s harder than getting my kids to wear clothing that’s appropriate for the winter season. It’s hard to get them to put on a jacket for outside but also wearing clothes they won’t freeze in indoors. I live in a place where even with the heater on, it still can fill a little chilly in the house.

I’ve found one way to combat this issue is to incorporate some unconventional winter wear into the mix. Last year I got the kids “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Sailor Moon” kigarumis. This year, they’re into Pokémon. So, I was able to pick up a few Eeveelution kigarumi from Fun.com.

For the small one, I got this Espeon Kigarumi. Just pairing this with a pair of light underclothes and some warm socks is enough to keep her warm. And that’s good! I’d rather her be warm than get a chill and a cold.

For my older daughter who’s a pre-teen but still pretty short, I went with a small Slyveon Kigarumi for adults. It fits but it’s also great because both the kids have room to grow, so these will be good for at least a few years. These are soft, warm, and designed like a wearable blanket which is perfect for my kids.

Unconventional winter wear like these Pokémon Kigurumis makes cold-weather dressing feel way more fun than just a regular sweatsuit. It takes the argument out of the conversation and gets the kids(and adults) excited to transform into some of their favorite characters. I will definitely be buying more of these. Not to mention they make great Halloween Costumes as well as Christmas Presents for under the tree.

You can check out these Kigarumis and more here.
