What’s in a name? During San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), AMC announced the 3rd season of “Interview With the Vampire” will be re-titled “The Vampire Lestat.” The core cast and showrunner Rolin Jones will all be returning!

The change will mostly be in the name and the focus of the series.

AMC’s “Interview With the Vampire” is based on Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles novels. Following the 1st book, seasons 1 and 2 focus on the relationship between Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) and the vampire who turned him, Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid). Framing the tale by having Louis recount his story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian).

The upcoming season will shift to Lestat’s point of view, as he becomes a rock star and tries to flip Louis’ narrative. This switches the story over to being based on Rice’s second novel, of the same name.

Reid, Anderson, and Bogosian star alongside Delainey Hayles as Cluadia and Assad Zaman as Armand. Jennifer Ehle (“Zero Dark Thirty”), Ella Ballentine, Jeanine Serralles (“Apples Never Fall”), Christopher Heyerdahl (“Under the Banner of Heaven”), and Damien Atkins bring some new blood to the cast.

AMC also announced that “Talamasca,” the 3rd series in Rice’s universe, will premiere on October 26th, 2025.  “The Vampire Lestat” isn’t expected to be released until sometime next year.

In the meantime, you can check out some behind-the-scenes footage of “The Vampire Lestat” below:
