We’ve got some great news for all you “IT” fans out there. The HBO prequel series “IT: Welcome to Derry” just got a second teaser trailer! The new footage gives us some more insight into the evil that lurks in Derry.

The teaser debuted during a Saturday night San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) panel, with a wide release the next morning.

Most of the new teaser trailer focuses on Taylour Paige’s character, who has just moved to Derry. It opens with her walking into a shop and chatting with the cashier. Their conversation narrates a montage of her family unpacking and Paige shopping. As she turns around to walk out of another shop, she sees several young boys beating someone in the streets. Alarmed by the disturbing spectacle and with no one trying to help, she races across the street to stop it.

As she approaches the boys, a title card pops up, and the footage switches to clips of the kids in town. From this, we gather Paige’s character’s children get wrapped up with a group of local kids trying to find their missing friend. Then the narration switches over to ominous conversations between the adults about the nature of belief and what people can and cannot see.

The line “People in this town, it’s like the Devil’s in ‘em” is the last bit of dialogue we get before another montage. However, this time, it’s all unsettling clips of all hell breaking loose. The last shot is of our old pal Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) engulfed in flames and extending his hand towards the viewer.

This upcoming series is based on and set in the universe established in Stephen King’s 1986 novel “IT.” It’s developed for television and executive produced by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, the same team behind the two recent feature film adaptations. Andy will also be directing several episodes of the upcoming series.

Paige and Skarsgård will be starring alongside Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso.

The first episode of  “IT: Welcome to Derry” is expected to debut in October of this year. We’ll keep you posted on updates as the project develops. In the meantime, you can check out the new teaser trailer below:
