Disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein is heading back to court. This time he is suing his brother/business partner Bob Weinstein and Weinstein Company executive David Glasser. Harvey alleges they committed fraud as well as hatching a conspiracy to push him out of the company.
The lawsuit was filed with the Supreme Court of the State of New York on February 15th.
The filing claims Bob, Glasser, and others got Harvey to guarantee a $45 million loan from AI International Holdings. This loan was supposedly taken out to help save the Weinstein Company. Instead, the suit claims the funds went to “personal use, unauthorized bonuses, and unrelated financial dealings.”
“As he claims in his complaint, Harvey Weinstein was deceived by those closest to him, and secured a $45 million dollar loan under the pretense of saving The Weinstein Company,” Imran H. Ansari, an attorney for Harvey Weinstein, said. “While Harvey personally guaranteed the loan, others within The Weinstein Company enriched themselves and strategically undermined him, leaving him ‘holding the bag’ of debt while ‘lining their pockets’ when the company was in crisis.”
There are further allegations that Bob and Glasser negotiated with AI International to absolve themselves of liability. This would leave Harvey solely responsible for the remaining $30 million plus any interest.

Those…Other Charges
This is money he probably doesn’t have after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2018, after accusations of sexual assault. Charges he was convicted of in 2020, but were overturned in April 2024. Following a court ruling that the original trial judge allowed testimony that was not relevant to the charges, which prejudiced the jury.
Harvey is seeking compensatory damages, punitive damages, and all of the funds that were allegedly misappropriated by Bob and Glasser. Along with full indemnification for any financial liability from the AI International lawsuit, legal costs, and an injunction to prevent further misallocation of the money.
There is currently no court date set for this most recent lawsuit. Harvey will also face a retrial in New York for rape on April 15th. A date that he is asking be moved up due to health concerns. Harvey Weinstein is currently in prison serving a 16-year sentence for a separate rape conviction.
