A24 is at it again with its upcoming pop thriller “Opus,” which got its first trailer today. The film follows a young journalist (Ayo Edebiri) who gets invited to the remote compound of a reclusive pop star (John Malkovich). His entourage of die-hard fans seemingly spurs on the star’s erratic behavior, and it isn’t too long before a nefarious plan starts to unfold.

Edebiri (“The Bear“) and Malkovich star alongside Juliette Lewis (“Yellowjackets”), Murray Bartlett (“PonyBoi”), and Amber Midthunder (“Prey”). As well as Tatanka Means (“Killers of The Flower Moon”), Young Mazino (“Beef”), Tamera Tomakili (“Blindspotting”) and Stephanie Suganami (“Power Book II: Ghost”).
“Opus” will be the feature-length directorial debut of Mark Anthony Green, who also wrote the script.
The movie is expected to make its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, with a wide release on March 14th. You can check out the first trailer for A24’s “Opus” below:
