Since 2018, Hasbro’s Haslab crowdfunding platform has brought limited-edition collectibles into the hands of fans. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of “Ghostbusters” and the 35th anniversary of “Ghostbusters II,” one of the coolest sets we’ve ever seen, the Plasma Series Ectomobile, has been launched.
Now we know you’ve seen Ecto-1s before, but not like this.

The New Ectomobile
Haslab’s newest campaign is for a sixth-scale Ecto-1 that measures 24 inches long, 10 inches high, and 8 inches wide. It’s beefy enough to have you saying “That’s a big Twinkie!” But it’s not just the size that counts, it’s the features inside.
“The HasLab Lab worked directly with our partners at Ghost Corps to create the most authentic and movie-accurate 6-inch-scale Ectomobile possible,” the website reads. “Our design team was even able to visit and photograph an actual Ecto, and boy howdy, did they get all up in that car’s business, as indicated by the eerily insane amount of detail included in this six-inch-scale replica.”
Two different versions will be available, a Base Model for $325 and a Deluxe Model for $400. Now, we get both of these models are spendy, but they do pack in a lot of features.

Base Model Includes:
- 6-Inch-Scale Ecto-1 with lights and sounds.
- Four 1984 Ecto-1 hubcaps.
- “Ghostbusters” 1984 Ecto-1 decal sheet.
- Rolling gurney (removable).
- Library ghost action figure with stand, library book stack, and library book.
- Slimer action figure with stand

Deluxe Model Includes:
The deluxe version includes everything listed above plus:
- “Ghostbusters II” conversion kit with Ecto-1A roof and functioning lights
- Ecto-1A red rear bumper with Ecto-1A license plate.
- “Ghostbusters II” 1989 Ecto-1A decal sheet.
- Two Ecto-charger pack accessories.
- Two Ecto-plasm streams (that should NEVER be crossed).
- Four 1989 Ecto-1A hubcaps.
- Toaster accessory.
- Hot beverage thermal mug accessory.
- Free-Balloon-for-the-Kids accessory.
- Four proton pack accessories.
- Four proton streams.
- Ray Stantz action figure.
- Winston Zeddemore action figure.
- Egon Spengler action figure.
- Peter Venkman action figure.

For an extra $75, you get four action figures and the ability to make the Ecto-1 from either of the first two films. Considering the figures can go for $20 to $25 a piece, this bundle is a surprisingly good bargain.
However, like any Haslabs project, there is a catch beyond the price tag since it’s only produced if 12,000 people back it in 45 days. At the time of this writing, less than 24 hours after launch, it sits at 3,912 backers. So we are willing to bet it’ll make that goal.
