Ever wonder what the surface of Mars looks like? Yes, we have images in storybooks and other places like the internet. But none of them really capture the majesty of what the surface looks like. Not until now. Now we have 8k footage of the surface of Mars thanks to NASA/JPL/UARIZONA and Sean Dorian who captured the footage.
The next frontier in humanity’s journey to the stars and beyond is Mars. Elon Musk reportedly still really wants to send explorers to our neighboring planet. As stated on the Space X website, Musk believes Mars is the ideal location for a new human colony.
Situated at an average distance of 140 million miles, Mars is one of Earth’s nearest habitable neighbors. Despite being approximately 50% farther from the Sun than Earth, it receives sufficient sunlight to support life. Admittedly, the planet is slightly chilly, but with their technological advancements, it’s not beyond their capabilities to warm it up. The Martian atmosphere is predominantly composed of carbon dioxide, with traces of nitrogen, argon, and a few other elements. Gravity on Mars is about 38% that of Earth’s.
