Firs Look at Jerry Seinfeld’s “Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story” Movie

While comedian Jerry Seinfeld may have become famous for making a show about nothing, his next project will have him tackling the creation of one of the most important inventions ever; Pop-Tarts. A collaboration with Netflix, “Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story” tells the tale behind the legendary breakfast treat. And we have our first look at the main cast from it!

Jerry Seinfeld, Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, and Fred Armisen “UNFROSTED: THE POP-TART STORY” Netflix

The film is set in Michigan in 1963, just a year before Pop-Tarts hit store shelves. It will center around the bitter rivalry between Kellogg’s and Post, as they race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever. “Unfrosted” is a story of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen. Seinfeld bills the movie as the “perfect vision of the future from Kellogg’s.”

Seinfeld is directing, co-writing, and starring in the upcoming feature. Fitting considering he has been asking himself “what’s the deal with Pop-Tarts?” since at least 2018 when he tweeted?

At one point I was thinking about an invention of the Pop Tart movie.
    Imagine the drunk
    on sugar-power
Kellogg’s cereal culture of the mid-60’s in Battle Creek, MI.
    That’s a vibe I could work with.

And what is the internet for if not to bring strange social media posts to life?

The pastry-obsessed comedian will star alongside Melissa McCarthy (“Bridesmaids”), Jim Gaffigan (“Jim Gaffigan: Comedy Monster”), Amy Schumer (“Amy Schumer: The Leather Special”), Hugh Grant (“Four Weddings and a Funeral”), Max Greenfield (“New Girl”), Christian Slater (“Heathers”), Bill Burr (“Old Dads”), Daniel Levy (“Good Grief”), James Marsden (“Enchanted”), Jack McBrayer (“30 Rock”), Thomas Lennon (“A Futile and Stupid Gesture”), Bobby Moynihan (“Saturday Night Live”), Adrian Martinez (“The Guilty”), Sarah Cooper (“Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine”), and Fred Armisen (“Portlandia”).

“Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story” will hit Netflix May 3rd 2024, so be sure to have your toaster ready.
