Since the confirmation of a live-action “Legend of Zelda” movie, many fans have named Hunter Schafer as their dream-casting for the titular role. We have to agree with the fans on this one, she looks perfect!
Schafer (“Euphoria,” “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes“) herself has actually shown interest in the part.

She’d previously expressed interest in playing Zelda during an interview back in 2022. “I mean yeah, that would be cool. I played that video game a bunch when I was a kid. That’s such a good game.” While at the London premiere for “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” she commented she’d seen the news of the live-action, and the fan-casting.

We do have to say, we LOVE BossLogic‘s suggestion of Thomasin McKenzie and Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Zelda and Link!

Nintendo confirmed the live-action film will be produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad. Wes Ball (“The Maze Runner“) is set to direct. Nintendo and Sony will both be co-financing this film. We can’t wait to learn more about what this film will entail and who will be the official cast. An even bigger question we have is, will the actor playing Link have any speaking lines?

Schafer’s next project to hit the big screen is “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” where she plays Tigris Snow. Rachel Zegler stars in the film alongside Tom Blyth. The cast also includes Josh Andrés Rivera, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, and Viola Davis. It hits theaters November 17th, 2023.
