In August the film world was rocked by the loss of legendary director William Friedkin. Now, Paramount has just released the first trailer for his final film “The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial.”
Friedkin’s final film will be a courtroom drama about a naval officer who stands trial for mutiny. After he took command from a ship captain, when he felt that the captain was acting in an unstable way. A decision that put both the ship and its crew in serious danger.
The trailer cuts between the testimonies of the defendant and the witnesses, who all try desperately to explain why they behaved the way that they did. All while the evidence seems to be stacking up in favor of their guilt. As emotions ramp up with the swelling score the trailer ends with the line “Isn’t it obvious that one of you is not telling the truth?”
“The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial,” stars Kiefer Sutherland, Lance Reddick, Jason Clarke, Jake Lacy, and Monica Raymund. The film is based on a play of the same name by Herman Wouk (“War and Remembrance”).
