“The Simpsons” Counts Down to October Premier with Trailer

“The Simpsons” 35th season has the citizens of Springfield back in action. The trailer from FOX is mostly a montage of quick glimpses of the upcoming season, but it’s certainly holding our interest.

So far, the network has only confirmed the plot for the first episode of season 35. It will have Homer Simpson (Dan Castellaneta) feeling fed up with work and volunteering as a school crossing guard. But when his safety squad receives too much funding he, as always, takes things too far. Turning the crossing guards into a force to be feared. And the new trailer does show footage of Homer dressed as a rather militaint-looking crossing guard.

“The Simpsons” season 35 trailer also has a lot of perplexing age discrepancies with characters. At one point we see Marge (Julie Kavner) scared that a younger version of Bart (Nancy Cartwright) is (seemingly) trapped in a floating bubble. We also see an older version of Sideshow Bob (Kelsey Grammer) about to be attacked by someone who looks like Lisa Simpson (Yeardley Smith). We also see what appears to be younger versions of Bob and Lisa, with her tied up.

But the erratic aging up and down isn’t where the questions end. Marge is seen using an explosive as a jetpack fighting the cartoon characters Itchy and Scratchy. There is a clip with a monkey giving Homer a pedicure. And it seems like the show may have another crisis at the nuclear plant this season.

“The Simpsons” season 35 is set to premiere on October 1st, on Fox. We’ll keep you posted on any news about the latest season as it becomes available. You can check out the new trailer below:
