Nissin Releasing Caffeinated Cup Noodles for Gamers

Being a gamer is tough work. You might think I’m joking but for all those that work and stream on platforms like Twitch that means late nights and early mornings. The staggered sleep schedule is hard enough let alone trying to stay awake and entertain your viewers. Most turn to Red Bull and crunchy snacks to keep their minds awake. So, Nissin is introducing something for gamers everywhere- caffeinated Cup Noodles.

“The gaming population in Japan is growing year by year, especially among young people, and the number is said to have surpassed 50 million,” Nissin Foods said about the new products. “To meet this demand, Nissin Foods is launching a new ‘gamer-friendly’ product for the first time in its history from its flagship brands Cup Noodles and Nissin Curry Meshi.”

The new caffeinated meal will come in two flavors: garlic and black pepper yakisoba. Both products are sauce-based and “soup-free, so there is no need to worry about getting your hands or peripherals dirty, making them the perfect meal in between game-playing sessions.”

Nissin Gaming Cup Noodle Energy Garlic & Black Pepper Yakisoba features a addictive taste with garlic and black pepper added to a peppery soy sauce-based sauce. Nissin Gaming Curry Mesh Energy Ginger Keema Curry features a fragrant and spicy roux flavor with a strong ginger base based on the umami of pork and vegetables such as onions and tomatoes. Both products contain caffeine, arginine, and niacin.

They are saying that the noodles are the strongest “buff” a gamer could have. Meaning that eating this meal is going to keep you at your best for the whole time you’re gaming. The flavors will release in Japan on September 18th, and will run around $2 (USD).

If all goes well, maybe the’ll release them in other markets, too.
